The Upper Mount Emu Creek (UMEC) Landcare Network, operates to the west of Ballarat in the region bordered by the Glenelg Highway to the south and the Sunraysia Highway to the north.  The Network goes west to Skipton and Beaufort.

Gorse Demonstration Day – Members at Snake Valley have seen the new ways gorse can be controlled on their properties as part of the ongoing facilitated project for gorse removal underway in the Group area.

The project is being supported by the Gorse task Force Inc.

A walk back in time to Winter Swamp – As part of Springfest activities, the Cardigan Landcare Group organised a walk back in time through the series of wetlands from Lake Wendouree to Winter Swamp to explain how they operate, interact and support the local ecology.22 people enjoyed some brisk Ballarat weather for a walk through what was the old Ballarat Common to visit the various wetlands.
