Eastern Barred Bandicoot (Perameles gunnii)

Habitat: Grasslands with dense tussock grass and low shrubs
Status: Listed as critically endangered in Victoria (extinct in the wild), they were once widespread through the basalt plains of South-Western Victoria. Now only occurs in less than five small reintroduced populations in southern Victoria.
A population is present at Mooramong, a National Trust property near Skipton.
Threats: Habitat loss from farming and predation from Foxes.
